The “Dragon Fruit Vikas Yojana” is a component of the umbrella scheme “Mukhyamantri Bagwani Mission”, launched by the Department of Agriculture, Bihar. The main objective of the scheme is to promote the commercial cultivation of horticultural crops in the state of Bihar.

This component focuses on increasing the cultivation area of dragon fruit across 21 districts (Bhojpur, Gopalganj, Jehanabad, Saran, Siwan, Supaul, Aurangabad, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Katihar, Kishanganj, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, West Champaran, Patna, East Champaran, Purniyan, Samastipur and Vaishali) in the state. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided to ryot farmers for dragon fruit cultivation.

Benefits

Financial Support:

  1. First year: ₹1,80,000/- per hectare.
  2. Second year: ₹60,000/- per hectare.
  3. Third year: ₹60,000/- per hectare.

Eligibility

  1. The applicant should be a resident of Bihar.
  2. The applicant should be a ryot farmer.
  3. The applicant must be from any of the following districts: Bhojpur, Gopalganj, Jehanabad, Saran, Siwan, Supaul, Aurangabad, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Katihar, Kishanganj, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, West Champaran, Patna, East Champaran, Purniyan, Samastipur and Vaishali.
  4. The applicant must have agricultural land a minimum of 0.25 acres (0.1 ha) and a maximum of 10 acres (4 ha).
  5. The applicant must be registered on the DBT portal.

Note 1: Beneficiary allocation:

  • General Category: 78.56%.
  • Scheduled Castes: 20%.
  • Scheduled Tribes: 1.44%.
  • Women Participation: 30%.

Note 2: Beneficiaries will be selected on first come first serve basis.

Application Process

Online

DBT Registration Process:

Step-1: Visit the registration page of the DBT portal.

Step-2: Select Aadhaar verification type: OTP/ BIO-AUTH/ IRIS.

Step-3: Enter your Aadhaar number and Name as per Aadhaar. Click on “Authentication”.

Step-4: Enter the OTP. Click on “Validate OTP”.

Step-5: Now confirm the details about the “Kisan Credit Card (KCC)” Details. Click on “Farmer Registration”.

Step-6: In the Registration Page, fill in all the details properly i.e. Farmer details, Land information, Bank account details and click on “Submit”.

Step-7: Validate with OTP. Click on “Register” to generate the Registration Id.

Note: After 48 hours of registration, farmers can apply for the scheme with the help of 13 digit registration number.

Online Application of the Scheme:

Step-1: Visit the official website.

Step-2: Scroll to bottom and confirm the checkbox. Click on “Proceed to apply”.

Step-3: In the next page select the “Type of Applicant” and enter the “DBT Registration Number of Kisan”. Click on “Get details”.

Step-4: Fill in the required details i.e. Address, Land Details, etc, and upload documents.

Step-5: Confirm the checkbox and then click on “Submit”.

Step-6: An “Application Number” will be generated. Keep this for future reference.

Step-7: Printout of the filled in application also can be taken using the Print option.

For the Online Application of the Scheme:

Note: If the applicant’s name is not clear in the land-ownership/ revenue receipt, it will be mandatory to attach the genealogy along with the land-ownership/ revenue receipt.
