NREGA Panchayat: Gram Panchayat Role, Reports and Work Demand Process

Quick note: VB-G RAM G stands for Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin). It replaced MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) from 1 July 2026 and now guarantees up to 125 days of wage employment per rural household in a financial year.

The Gram Panchayat is the heart of VB-G RAM G. It registers households, receives work demands, plans works through the Viksit Gram Panchayat Plan, and maintains muster rolls.

Role of the Gram Panchayat

  • Registers rural households and issues Gramin Rozgar Guarantee Cards
  • Receives and dates every demand for work
  • Prepares the annual shelf of works and labour budget
  • Executes at least 50% of works by value
  • Maintains attendance, muster rolls and records for social audit

How to Find Your Gram Panchayat Data

  1. Open the portal Reports section.
  2. Select your State, District and Block.
  3. Choose your Gram Panchayat from the list.
  4. View job cards, works and payments for your Panchayat.
