VB-G RAM G Works List: All Permitted Works and How Villages Choose Them

Quick note: VB-G RAM G stands for Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin). It replaced MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) from 1 July 2026 and now guarantees up to 125 days of wage employment per rural household in a financial year.

VB-G RAM G funds durable community and individual assets. Works are chosen through the Viksit Gram Panchayat Plan and aligned with the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.

Categories of Permitted Works

  • Water conservation: ponds, check dams, percolation tanks, recharge structures
  • Drought proofing: afforestation, tree plantation, pasture development
  • Irrigation: canals, field channels, renovation of traditional water bodies
  • Rural connectivity: all-weather village roads, culverts
  • Individual assets: farm ponds, wells, cattle sheds, land development for eligible households
  • Sanitation and rural infrastructure: soak pits, compost pits, Anganwadi buildings

How Works Are Selected

  1. The Gram Sabha proposes works for the annual plan.
  2. The Gram Panchayat prepares the shelf of works and labour budget.
  3. Plans are integrated with the district plan and PM Gati Shakti mapping.
  4. Sanctioned works open as demand for labour arises.
